Membership Recruitment Tool

Will you be traveling to an event or a hosting a presentation where you will encounter potential members? If so, we have developed a new recruitment tool that can help you grow your membership as well as the Academy’s!

Recognizing that leaders are excellent grassroots promoters of membership, but also cognizant that transporting bulky brochures and applications to events (especially international) is not efficient or cost effective, the Membership Team has devised a simple but effective way for all leaders to take part in grassroots recruitment.

Recruitment cards

The sample pictured here is the size of a business card and contains an overview of a membership category’s application information. These cards are easy to hand out and easy for potential members to retain in meeting binders, wallets, registration badges, etc. Each membership category will have its own card, including vanity URLs that will take the recipient directly to the online information specific to their needs. Our goal is to drive applicants to eatrightPRO.

The best part – we can create a personalized “discount code” for you!  The code will be the name of your group, designed to track results while waiving the Academy’s $25 membership application fee. We will create the code for you to handwrite on the back of the card, allowing you to provide a personalized and unique incentive for your contacts to join.

For Students – Since students do not pay a $25 application fee, the full name of a referring member must be entered on the back of the Student category card. This will enter the student applicant (plus the referring member) into a drawing for a complimentary Academy membership.

3 easy steps to request

  1. Order. 30 days prior to your presentation or event, send an e-mail to Jim Weinland, Membership Director, at jweinland@eatright.org with the following information: name and date of the event, date you will need your recruitment cards, and most importantly, the type of non-member you will encounter (Active category, International, Students, allied professionals or Associates, etc.). * Jim will work with you to create a unique promo code for your event.
  1. Pack. The membership team will ship your recruitment cards to you – and don’t worry – they are very small and easy to transport.
  1. Distribute. Hand out your personalized cards to everyone you meet who is not an Academy member. Encourage them to visit our website to obtain more information and join.

And what’s more? You could win!

The DPGs and MIGs that recruit the most new members by using this tool will be eligible to win an additional monetary award at the end of the year. The Academy will divide DPGs and MIGs into groups based on membership size to determine who is eligible. The more members your group recruits, the better your chances of winning.
